A Healing Earth Project Powered by Focus Counselling Services
Root & Rise is more than a program, it’s a movement. It’s where recovery, community, and sustainability come together to help people rebuild their lives while restoring the earth.
Through hands-on horticultural training, skill training, reforestation, and social enterprise, Root & Rise helps individuals in recovery grow stronger, find purpose, and create lasting change for themselves and for Bermuda.
What we do?
Sober Living & Treatment
Root & Rise provides a structured 12-bed sober living residence combined with outpatient addiction and substance use treatment, creating a stable and supportive pathway from recovery to reintegration. By pairing clinical care with daily purpose-driven engagement through horticulture and workforce training, the programme strengthens long-term sobriety, personal accountability, and community connection.
Horticulture Training
Root & Rise provides structured horticulture training that combines sustainable farming certification, soil regeneration, crop production, and native plant restoration within a therapeutic recovery setting. Participants gain practical, job-ready skills in agriculture and environmental stewardship while strengthening discipline, confidence, and long-term recovery outcomes.
Social Enterprise
Root & Rise includes a growing social enterprise designed to create sustainable income while providing real-world job training for individuals in recovery. Through the sale of locally grown produce, native plants, and eco-friendly products such as teas, soaps, and natural goods, the enterprise turns recovery into contribution and helps fund long-term programme stability.
Reforestation &
Food Security
Root & Rise strengthens Bermuda’s food security by growing fresh produce locally while training individuals in recovery in sustainable agriculture and climate-resilient farming practices. At the same time, the initiative advances reforestation by restoring native and endemic species, regenerating soil health, and contributing to long-term environmental resilience across the island.
